Soynade Research is joining the UNICEF Venture Fund, and this represents a strong opportunity to advance our vision.

The cohort receives equity-free funding and for us, that means more runway to build open-source language models and voice tools for West African languages, work we were already doing, now with more support to do it faster.

The focus stays the same: languages that are primarily oral, spoken by millions, and almost entirely absent from modern AI systems. The open-source approach stays too, everything we build is public and reusable.

The six other ventures in the cohort are working on misinformation detection, ethical data systems, and digital trust infrastructure across emerging economies. The fund is backed by Finland, the Ethereum Foundation, GSR Foundation, and Sida.

We'll share updates as the work progresses.
