Voice Rights & Safety Policy

Last Updated: August 4, 2026

1. Scope and Relationship to Our Terms

This Voice Rights & Safety Policy ("Voice Policy") applies whenever you submit reference audio, use voice-generation features, or generate synthetic speech intended to resemble an identifiable person through Soynade Research's services.

This Voice Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. If you do not agree to this Voice Policy, you may not submit reference audio or use our reference-conditioned voice features.

2. How Reference-Conditioned Voice Synthesis Works

Soynade's voice technology can use a reference recording as an inference-time conditioning signal to guide the characteristics of generated speech. Submitting reference audio does not give you ownership of another person's voice, identity, performance, or recording.

You are responsible for ensuring that your submission and intended use are lawful and within the scope of every permission or licence you rely on.

3. Voice Consent and Recording Rights

You may submit reference audio only when all of the following are true:

  • The recording contains your own voice, or you have the speaker's explicit written or recorded authorization to use their voice for synthetic speech.
  • You own the recording or have all licences, permissions, and other rights necessary to submit and use it for the intended purpose.
  • The authorization is sufficiently specific for the intended use, remains valid, and has not been withdrawn.
  • Your use does not violate another person's privacy, publicity, performer, copyright, contractual, or other legal rights.

A recording being publicly available does not, by itself, authorize you to reproduce a person's voice or use the recording for synthetic speech.

You must retain reasonable evidence of the required authorization and provide it to Soynade upon reasonable request. If authorization is withdrawn or disputed, you must immediately stop submitting or using the affected voice and notify us.

4. Attestation and API Accountability

Before using reference-conditioned voice features, the authoritative workspace owner must make this acceptance:

I have read and accept the Soynade Voice Rights & Safety Policy on behalf of this workspace. I understand that the workspace may submit reference audio only when it has the voice owner's explicit rights and all necessary recording rights, and that every such request must make a truthful rights attestation.

Each reference-audio request must make this attestation:

I confirm that I am the person whose voice appears in this recording, or that I have obtained that person's explicit written or recorded authorization to use their voice for synthetic speech. I also confirm that I own the recording or have all rights necessary to submit and use it for this purpose. I understand that unauthorized impersonation, deception, fraud, political-candidate or public-official impersonation, election deception, unauthorized robocalling, harassment, and circumvention of safeguards are prohibited.

The request must identify the applicable rights basis:

  • self when the recording contains the submitting person's own voice.
  • authorized when the speaker explicitly authorized the use.

You are responsible for activity performed through your workspace, account, projects, and API credentials, including activity by your employees, contractors, customers, or applications. You must protect your credentials and ensure that anyone using the Service through them complies with this Voice Policy.

We may associate policy acceptance and generation metadata with the responsible workspace, project, API credential, and request identifier for security, billing, investigation, and policy-enforcement purposes.

5. Prohibited Voice Uses

You must not use Soynade's services, reference audio, or generated audio to:

  • Replicate or impersonate a person's voice without their authorization or other valid legal right.
  • Deceive people about a speaker's identity or whether audio is synthetic where that deception is unlawful or likely to cause harm.
  • Commit or facilitate fraud, phishing, identity theft, extortion, financial scams, or unauthorized access to information or accounts.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, exploit, or unlawfully sexualize another person.
  • Impersonate a political candidate, elected official, or public authority, or manipulate elections, voting, or civic participation.
  • Conduct unauthorized robocalling, call bombing, spam, or other unlawful or unsolicited communications.
  • Submit the voice of a minor without verifiable authorization from a parent or legal guardian and any additional approval Soynade may require.
  • Submit the voice of a deceased person without authorization from the applicable rights holder, estate, or other legally authorized representative.
  • Circumvent technical safeguards, obscure attribution, evade enforcement, or help another person violate this Voice Policy.
  • Violate applicable law or infringe any privacy, publicity, performer, copyright, trademark, contractual, or other right.

6. Transparency and Responsible Deployment

You must make disclosures that are required by applicable law and must not intentionally misrepresent synthetic audio as an authentic recording when doing so would deceive or harm others.

If you make our voice features available to your own users, you are responsible for implementing appropriate notice, consent, security, moderation, and complaint mechanisms for your use case.

7. Reports, Investigations, and Enforcement

Voice owners, licensors, and members of the public may report suspected unauthorized or harmful use by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Voice Rights Report." Reports should include enough information for us to identify the relevant content or account and understand the reporter's relationship to the voice.

We may investigate reports, request proof of authorization, restrict processing, suspend or revoke API credentials, suspend accounts, preserve relevant evidence, or take other proportionate action. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent termination.

Where appropriate or legally required, we may cooperate with rights holders, infrastructure providers, payment providers, regulators, or law-enforcement authorities in response to valid requests.

8. Data Use and Limited Processing Permission

As between you and Soynade, you retain your rights in the content you submit. You grant Soynade the limited permission necessary to process reference audio and other inputs, generate and deliver outputs, secure and operate the Service, provide support, and enforce this Voice Policy.

We handle reference audio and associated information as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use private API inputs or outputs to train our shared foundation models unless you separately and explicitly opt in.

9. Changes to This Voice Policy

We may update this Voice Policy as our services, safeguards, and legal obligations evolve. We will publish future versions at a new immutable versioned URL, update the current policy alias, and provide additional notice when required by law. An accepted version will not be changed in place.
